Unfortunately, the advantages named by the study — namely increased shale gas extraction and its associated processes (fracking, flaring, underground injection of wastes, gas well leaks, etc) are not the answer for carbon control, either. We need to focus on energy efficiency and clean renewables like wind and solar.
